Since we installed ADF in May, our somatic cell count (SCC) has decreased from 190 to 130. Also, the decrease in mastitis cases has led to a 30% drop in vet bills.”

Ayrshire dairy farmer Grant Limond installed the Automatic Dipping and Flushing System on his 14/28 herringbone parlour at Drumore Farm in May 2020, with the aim of reducing mastitis, lowering his SCC and improving cow longevity. Drumore Farm is currently milking a herd of 250 cows, twice a day.

“Since installing ADF in May, our SCC has decreased from 190 to 130,” explains Grant. “The decrease in mastitis cases has led to a 30% drop in vet bills,” he adds. Grant is especially impressed with the consistency of ADF, no matter who is milking. Grant is also pleased with the teat dip coverage, giving peace of mind that the optimum protection is provided for each cow.

Grant has also seen time saving benefits whilst using ADF. “Since we installed ADF, we have saved over 14 hours per month and that’s just in the parlour,” explained Grant.

“I would recommend ADF to other farmers and I have personally found a huge saving throughout the entire farm since we began using the system. From labour savings, cow health and money saved.”
