Fiona Trainer farms with her husband Alan on their picturesque dairy in Lanark, Scotland. For nearly 20 years their post milking hygiene routine has consisted of the ADF Automatic Dipping & Flushing system, since installing it in 2008. Most recently the couple upgraded their parlour to our latest InVent technology in October 2021.
Over the course of nearly two decades, Fiona has enjoyed the labour saving element of the ADF system in particular. “The main benefit in terms of someone who’s milking on a day-to-day basis is the time saving. It does make a difference when you’re walking up and down a parlour for hours a day, twice a day.”
“Compared to our old system when we were manually dipping, there is a tangible difference in terms of labour. It’s just less of a physical task when you’re doing the milking, which is always welcome,” she says.
Fiona also likes the simplicity of the ADF System and how it makes milking a seamless process. “All you need to do is put the units on the cows and then you can leave it at that. Then the animal is ready cleaned and it’s calm. It’s a very smooth process. It’s just one little thing that takes care of itself,” Fiona explains.
Fiona recommends the ADF System to other farmers looking to improve their dairy operation. “It will make your life that little bit easier, that little bit smoother and that little bit more efficient – which is always a huge gain for any farm!”
