Charlotte Booth works on her family dairy farm, Wigglesworth Hall, North Yorkshire, currently milking 300 Pedigree Holsteins with plans for future expansion. The farm’s journey with ADF began in 2010 and the results have been revolutionary.
“We put ADF in in 2010 and since then somatic cell counts have dropped and milk yields have improved,” Charlotte explains.
This positive impact led to a further upgrade on the family farm with ADF InVent in January 2023. The InVent technology is ideal for cows with varying teat sizes. When a threshold vacuum is reached within the mouthpiece, InVent individually vents each liner. This alleviates excessive vacuum, which prevents teat congestion and aids peak milk flow.
The InVent technology has several positive effects during milking. “Since putting the InVent system in, heifers have definitely been a lot quieter in the parlour and milking time has improved – it’s sped up a lot,” says Charlotte. The quieter heifers and faster milking times contribute to a more positive and efficient working environment. “Cows are happy, staff are happy. It makes milking quite enjoyable!”
