7th generation dairy farmer Korb Whale likes the ADF System for three main reasons – it dips every teat every time, it disinfects the shells and it took away one person from the parlour.

He originally decided to install ADF on Clovermead Farm in Alma, Ontario, to improve his milk quality. “We also wanted to reduce our labour and we knew how important it was to have really good teat dip application because we’re using composted solids for bedding. So, we started looking at options and ADF jumped to the forefront early on.”

Not only has Korb seen a reduction in labour, but his cows are healthier too. “I think the biggest benefit is that every teat gets dipped every time in the same way, so it’s not up to a person to hopefully get enough teat dip on. ADF is applying the right amount of teat dip, so that’s really helped us control our somatic cell count.”

Korb has been so impressed with the ADF System since he installed it in 2020 that he recently fitted our latest technology, InVent. “We know we’ve got bedding that is very prone to bacteria – so teat end heath is super important. Anything that we can do to improve our cows’ heath improves their longevity. And when we started to think about our cows with different shaped teats, InVent just seemed like a good idea.”
