Effective Teat Dipping
Effective post milking teat disinfection is one of the most effective tools for controlling the incidences of mastitis. It was a key element of the NIRD Five Point Mastitis Control Plan and more recently in the DEFRA Mastitis Management Action Plan.
Teat dipping should be carried out as soon as possible after milking and in any case within 30 seconds.
Manual teat dipping is labour intensive and affects parlour routine and throughput.
With increasing pressure for throughput and labour efficiency and especially in a modern milking parlour with ACR's removing units individually around the milking parlour, dipping or spraying by hand in a timely manor is virtually impossible.
ADF takes the stress out of milking, by reducing workload and will allow operators more time to concentrate on milking cows - improving milking routine.
