Elimination of Cross Contamination
Sanitising and Flushing the liners with ADF can remove risk of cross infection. The milking parlour is responsible for the significant spread of Mastitis between cows in the herd.
Milking liners become contaminated with bacteria as soon as the first cow is milked, these bacteria can then be transferred through the herd.
The plate shows a swab taken from a cow with a high cell count. On the left of the plate you can see the results of bacteria after milking without ADF and on the right results after milking with ADF. As you can see the ADF milking system has a significant effect.
